Inoculate your truffle trees in style with Truffle Pearls™. Truffle Pearls™ are small biopolymer beads encapsulating clonal mycelial inoculum of select truffle varieties. Truffle Pearls™ protect fragile mycelium as it is inoculated into the soil, provides moisture to the inoculum, and provides nutrients to promote mycelial expansion. For each truffle species offered in the Truffle Pearls™ format there are two variations, mating type 1 and mating type 2. You will need to inoculate both mating types in the same orchard to have successful crossing and truffle formation. This is like the need for cross-pollenation in many plants. Truffle Pearls™ may be used in the nursery, to inoculate seedling trees. Alternatively, they can be used in the orchard to supplement the limiting mating types through incorporation into truffle traps.
