A true 50/50 hybrid of the American persimmon Josephine and the Asian persimmon Taishu. Medium to large, squarish, reddish-orange fruit 2.5 to 3 inches across is astringent until soft, then sweet and mouthwatering with a hint of American persimmon flavor. Ripens in October. The tree is small, not vigorous, precocious, and spreading, and bears so heavily that branches should be supported. Self-fertile and one of the most cold hardy persimmons with kaki genetics, rated to about -10°F.
